Welcome at the online platform of the Hospital Museum

The museum is located in the old hospital building of Geel, which was founded by Henry III Berthout in the 13th century. It paints a vivid picture of the everyday life of the Augustinian hospital sisters who took care of the sick since 1552. Audio guide and computers tell you more about the 17th century characters. Sisters and patients tell you how they first came to the hospital and how life was like in the past centuries. Groups have the possibility to visit the museum with a guide. The museum, which was renovated between 2001 and 2005, brings a beautiful story of the life in this house from the middle-ages until 1969.
