In this big kitchen food was prepared both for the convent community and for the sick. The hospital bills show that the sisters often had to buy large quantities of meat, vegetables, herbs and spices. But they didn’t have to buy everything. The sisters had their own farm with cows for milk, pigs and chickens until around 1960. They grew vegetables and herbs in their own garden.
